Welcome

Sometimes the world can seem like a very difficult place. The decision to talk to someone other than friends or family can be hard.

I believe that it’s the talking that helps, and that finding an open, honest space to look at feelings and issues can provide relief; it’s an old adage but I do believe that a problem shared is a problem halved. My interest in counselling comes from a profound interest in people – I care what happens to my clients and want to understand what it feels like to be them. That way we can work collaboratively to find insight and change.

I am an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor offering both long-term and short-term therapy.

I have worked with many people experiencing the following issues:

  • Anger

  • Addiction

  • Sex and Sexuality

  • Bereavement and Loss

  • Identity Issues

  • Eating Disorders

  • Self-harm

  • Obsessive Thoughts and Actions

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME)

  • Depression and Suicidal Thoughts

  • Separation and Divorce

  • Cross-cultural Issues

  • Abuse and Trauma

  • Low Self Esteem

  • Phobias

  • Panic Attacks

  • Coping with Daily Life or Social Situations

  • Loneliness or Isolation

  • Terminal/Chronic Illness

  • Post-traumatic Stress (PTSD)

What happens next?

There is no obligation at all when you call or email, but that first contact is important for me to understand what you are going through and to work out if and how I can help. I can also answer any questions you might have. If we decide to work together, we will reach a mutual decision about when, where and how often to meet, what we hope to achieve and in roughly what time frame.
